Car Bombs Explode Near Saudi Interior Ministry

By Laith Abou-Ragheb

RIYADH (Reuters) - Twin car bombs exploded near Saudi Arabia's interior ministry and a security unit on Wednesday in what appeared to be the latest strike by al Qaeda militants in the world's biggest oil exporter.

Security sources said there was no immediate word of casualties in the central Riyadh blasts, which sent global oil prices higher. It was not immediately clear if they were suicide bombings.
A Reuters reporter said there was superficial damage to the interior ministry building. Helicopters hovered above the area, which was cordoned off by police.
The second bomb exploded near a training center for special emergency forces, a security official said.
"This is most probably a terrorist attack," the official told Reuters. "There was another car bomb at the same time as the first bomb near a training center for special emergency forces"
Saudi Arabia has been battling for over a year a wave of suicide bombings and shootings by the Saudi wing of al Qaeda, which is bent on toppling the pro-Western monarchy and driving Westerners out of the birthplace of Islam.
The attack was the first against a government building since an al Qaeda suicide bombing at a security forces building in Riyadh in April.
Earlier on Wednesday, Saudi police killed a suspected militant in a shootout in Riyadh and captured two wanted militants after a gun battle in the Red Sea city of Jeddah, state television and security sources said.
It was not clear if the militants were on the list of 26 most wanted militants linked to al Qaeda.
Earlier this month, al Qaeda militants stormed the U.S. consulate in Jeddah, killing five non-U.S. staff in the first attack on a Western mission in Saudi.
An audio tape attributed to Saudi-born al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden praised the attack, in which four militants were also killed, and called for strikes on oil facilities in the kingdom.
Saudi Arabia has been rocked by a surge of Islamic militant violence since May 2003, in which about 170 people have been killed, including Westerners.

RIYADH (AFX) - A car bomb exploded near the interior ministry in the Saudi capital on Wednesday evening, a security man at the scene said.
Security forces closed off roads leading to al-Maazar district where the interior ministry and the Intercontinental Hotel are located, an Agence France-Presse correspondent said.
The blast occurred hours after Saudi security forces shot dead a gunman in Riyadh in a fresh shootout as they combed a district where a terror suspect and a civilian were killed in a clash the night before.
Suspected Al-Qaeda militants have killed more than 100 people and wounded hundreds more in Saudi Arabia since launching a wave of bombing and shooting attacks in May 2003.

Got weed?

Last night when I was leaving my office at 4:30AM I was stopping at a red traffic light...
Then a GMC Superpan with three guys in it stopped beside me, the driver rolled down his window and started this conversation: (It was in Arabic)

GMC Driver: Hey man! Whats up!
Me: umm... Hi! (Thinking do I know this guy?)
GMC Driver: How are you?... How is everything?... Bla Bla Bla?...
Me: I'm fine... Everything is fine... How can I help you?
GMC Driver: I will tell you on the next traffic light...
Me: umm okaaaay!

The traffic light turns green...
The next traffic light turns red...
The Superpan stopped next to me... Again!

GMC Driver: I think I bothered you and stuff...
Me: No, its okay... What do you want?
GMC Driver: I just was wondering if you can give me some of what you have?
Me: What do you want?
GMC Driver: You know... umm... I want some of the weed you have.
Me: WHAT!!!
The guy next to the driver: HASHEEESH!
Me: I dont have what you want!

The traffic light turns green...

Me: After you.
GMC Driver: No after you. And sorry again for asking.
Me: no problem (and I drove away)

They fallowed me for the next five traffic lights and they were all green, they stopped following me when I reached my house turn.

I think that was too strange!

Nemo is still lose!

Nemo decided to leave the Ezzbah for good!
I think because he doesn't like to share the food with Scoopy and Dicey.
Alternatively, maybe because he found a cute female "pussy"?
However, I am sure there are a trashcan involved!

Eastside weekend!

On last Wednesday (12/8/2004) Essam came from Jeddah, I didn't see him for a loooong time.

He came to Riyadh because he had some meetings here.
Me, Hisham and Monther we were going to Khubar in the weekend to have some fun and to visit our eastern branch in Dammam, Essam wanted to go with us to visit a friend there since he have no meetings on Thursday and Friday. We all went together on Thursday afternoon.

I don't have to tell you Hisham was driving I was in front and Essam and Monther were in the back.

We arrived to Khubar about 9:30 PM we checked-in and went to AlRashid Mall. It was so crowded! We walked around and stuff then went to Marina Restaurants on the Corniche (Seaside road) then we walked by the sea. And I dropped a stone in the sea because a friend asked me to do so…!

We walked back to the car and we found out that Hisham lost the car keys. We started to look for them while some guys were dancing Dabkah dance on the street by them self! After a long search, Hisham found the car keys in his jacket pocket!

We drove back to the hotel watched a movie and then we slept.

We woke up, checked-out Hisham and Monther went to the office and they dropped Essam and me to the AlRashed mall. We meet Essam friend there.
After about 2 hours Hisham and Monther came back and we all went to Chili's to have our Lunch/Dinner and drove back to Riyadh. We arrived at 2AM.

History tells us that human beings have short memories…

I just finished watching a documentary called "Control Room"
It's a movie that reminded me of the sad days of the war on Iraq, I don't regret that memory recall, I just feel sad how I forget such sad days… How I felt so bad for my brothers and sisters in Iraq… There was nothing new in the documentary for me… It just was reminder… Now it's December 5, 2004… I want to make a point but I don't know how to explain it… I will make it easier on my self… I will switch my TV to a news channel, open a news website and open World Press Photo website at the same time.

On AlArabia News Channel "Another violent day in Iraq: 17 (Bashmarkeh) Killed and a car Exploded near the American Embassy"
On CNN.com "Bombs outside Baghdad's Green Zone kill 16"
And on World Press Photo website:
World Press Photo of the Year 2003

Photo Caption:
An Iraqi man comforts his four-year-old son at a holding center for prisoners of war, in the base camp of the US Army 101st Airborne Division near An Najaf, southern Iraq, on March 31. The boy had become terrified when, according to orders, his father was hooded and handcuffed. A US soldier later severed the plastic handcuffs so that the man could comfort his child. Hoods were placed over detainees' heads because they were quicker to apply than blindfolds. The military said the bags were used to disorientate prisoners and to protect their identities. It is not known what happened to the man or his son.

My post title was from the movie Control Room

This is a review of the movie from IMDB.com:
Michael DeZubiria (miked32@hotmail.com)

Date: 9 November 2004
Summary: Oh and by the way…

Early on in Control Room, we see Bush giving his speech just before the war in which he gave Saddam Hussein and his sons their 48-hour warning to get out of Iraq. I remember very, very clearly the day that he gave this speech, and even exactly what I was doing at the time, because I was absolutely astounded at how fake and transparent it was. At the time as well as now, I was completely convinced that Bush already knew there were no weapons on mass destruction in Iraq (I never believed it for a second, then or now), and simply wanted to take America to a swift and easy war there (which, given his Mission Accomplished speech, is truly what he thought it would be) in order to appease the disturbing number of Americans who were foaming at the mouth for revenge for the September 11th attacks.

In this ludicrous speech, Bush delivers his 48-hour warning to Hussein and his sons, and then mentions that many Iraqi people are listening to him through interpreters. "To the Iraqi people, if there is a military campaign, it is not against you but against the lawless men that run your country." Later in the same speech, part that was not included in Control Room, Bush mentions that they will be provided with supplies like medicine and food to help recover from unintentional civilian harm from the attacks.

At the time of this writing, there have been well over 1,100 American deaths, a shocking number, but one that pales in comparison to the more than 100,000 Iraqis who have been killed, MOSTLY women and children.

THAT, dear reader, is nothing short of genocide.

When Bush gave this speech, there had been no deaths on either side, and still the first thing that popped into my mind was an instant translation of Bush's speech.

"To the Iraqi people, if there is a military campaign, it is not against you but against the lawless men that run your country...you will be provided with the food and medical supplies that you need."

Translation: "To the Iraqi people, after we fly over and bomb the hell out of you, we will be sure to drop plenty of food and medicine on top of your burning carcasses, and you had better be damned grateful."

And now he expects our troops to win their hearts and minds...

I was fooled!

Today when I was leaving home, the sky was covered with dark clouds so I guessed it would rain.
So rushed to my car dealership to change the windshield wipers! I wanted to be the smart citizen who changes the windshield wipers before its rain…
Cause as soon as it rain you will see everybody sticking there head from there car window driving for the closest spare parts shop making and I don't to join the crowd!
I'm smart right?

However, it didn't rain today.

I got so pissed I wanted to return the wipers!

Today I got a funny link, it's a Japanese sex manual printed in 1960…
Enjoy it!
